A Little Retail Therapy

Last Thursday I went to the mall for the first time in a while since I had a few days off this past week. :) The mall is slightly out of the way from the area I normally shop, but I figured I might as well since I had the day to myself. (For the most part. I volunteered to cover a shift at work that afternoon.) I would consider this trip to the mall a successful outing. It was enjoyable and there were some really nice sales going on. :)

My first stop was H&M. I'm happy with my purchases from there. I ended up buying a pair of tan, camel-colored sweat shorts, 2 black shirts (one ribbed and one plain), a vintage-inspired Froot Loops t-shirt that I love, a gorgeous metal and raffia-woven claw clip for my hair, and some socks. :) Next, I went to Bath and Body Works for some hand sanitizers, but as I entered the store, I learned they were having their semi-annual sale and that everything was 75% off. I couldn't help myself. I bought two body sprays (Pear Crème Brûlée and Waikiki Beach Coconut), 5 hand sanitizers, a coconut pineapple body wash, 2 hand soaps (bright summer days and coastal watermelon), as well as two body lotions in the scents peach prosecco macaron and whipped berry meringue. Yeah... I know, much more than just some hand sanitizer, but the money I saved was incredible! I have next to zero self-control when it comes to anything that smells good to me. There were other sales going on in many of the other stores as well, but I was pretty much done by this point. And I was getting hungry.

I had passed by the food court a couple of times before I actually decided to get anything, but just as I was about to leave the mall and head home there was a poster by the door promoting the new coffee shop they had at the food court, so I turned around and headed back upstairs to try it out. It's called Tropical Latin Coffee. They have coffee, smoothies, pastries... It's a really cute place and from someone who has been to Latin America, it made me really happy seeing a place like this so close to home. I ordered an iced caramel latte. Definitely a highlight for me. (It's the little things, you know?) Since I was there, I also decided to get a chicken pita from Gyros Plus on my way out. :)

I was really happy with my little outing to the mall. Yes, I ended up spending more than I thought I would, but I was satisfied with what I got and what I now have, and it was nice to get out of the house. Just an overall nice experience, and sometimes I just like sharing the "small" joys in life. <3
