Table for One

For dinner on the last day of my trip I decided to treat myself by going to the Cheesecake Factory for all of the things I had accomplished during my visit to Anaheim. (I also hadn't eaten since breakfast earlier that morning, which consisted of a bowl of unsweetened oatmeal, a couple of bites of an apple, and some water. -That's a bit of an exaggeration. The oatmeal itself was flavored with cinnamon; I just didn't add anything to it.) I should be grateful for any sort of breakfast, even a bland one. Regardless, I didn't get to eat lunch, so I was pretty hungry by the time dinner came around.

While it may not be as common as dining with friends and family, going out to eat at a nice restaurant by yourself isn't that strange or weird. In fact, there are some real benefits in dining solo, especially at the Cheesecake Factory. :)

First, you don't actually need anyone with you to appreciate where you are. It's fun to share that excitement with others, but I think you can really revel in the moment when it's just you. If you are shy, this next one might be a bit scary, but another great thing about dining solo is that your waiter/waitress' attention is focused on you. (At least at your table.) It's kind of nice. It makes you feel a little bit more special and cared for. -At least if you have a friendly waiter/waitress, haha! (Shout-out to Lindsay!)

This may sound dumb for someone who has been to the Cheesecake Factory before, but I forgot they serve you bread as an appetizer. So, you can imagine how grateful I was when I was reminded of this beautiful fact. AND ALL OF IT WAS MINE. There was no fighting involved. It was just me and the whole basket of bread. I ended up ordering these amazing chicken taquitos, and I had a glass of iced water to drink, so it was actually incredibly affordable for such a lovely meal with great service in a very nice atmosphere. -I've literally spent more money at McDonald's. Who would have thought it possible to be able to go out to eat at a restaurant and be so economical without sacrificing quality? That's pretty impressive to me! I should also mention that I only had $4 in cash, so I'm really grateful my card went through. That was a bit risky, but thankfully it didn't cause me any trouble. I had a great time, and it was definitely worth the wait. <3

Treat yo self,

Allie Maria
