A few weeks ago, I took a little trip to Anaheim, CA. And when you are in Anaheim, you have to go to Disneyland. :) I recently had my birthday, so I was technically still 19 when I went, but I was able to celebrate when I was there. <3
I ate a really expensive (and messy) sandwich from the airport for breakfast. I got to the Disneyland Hotel (I didn't stay there, it's just where I chose to get dropped off) around 9:00 a.m. I was kind of nervous, but it soon turned into excited anticipation once I heard the music they play all over the resort. I grew even more excited and amazed as I continued to walk, and once I was in Downtown Disney, it really started to sink in that I was at Disneyland. Caught up in all of this, I immediately bought a pair of rose gold Minnie ears, and I seriously love them SO MUCH!
The first thing I did when I got there was get a locker to put all of my stuff in. (I will write all about Disneyland lockers in another post, so stay tuned if you want more information on that.) I also used this opportunity to use the restroom before entering the park, and once I got myself together and made sure I had everything I needed - my sunglasses, phone, wallet, and ticket -I stood in line to enter the park. :) Once I was inside the park I went to City Hall on Main Street and got a birthday button to celebrate my birthday. All of the main characters were out as well, so I got to meet Dale! (Of Chip and Dale) He was so friendly! His attendant was able to take our picture, and it was a really great experience meeting a character for the very first time.
I saw a lot of really cool ducks throughout the day! I was planning on going to Adventureland first , but I could not resist starting my day by going through Sleeping Beauty's Castle to Fantasyland. I was looking for Peter Pan's Flight, but I ended finding Peter Pan! So, I met him, then went on Peter Pan's Flight. As I was heading out of Fantasyland I saw Belle and the Beast dancing with the marching band in front of the castle, so I stayed and watched. That was really cool. Next I went to Adventureland to get a Dole Whip float and go inside the Enchanted Tiki Room. Afterwards, I went on the Jungle Cruise, then ate at the Bengal Barbecue for lunch. After lunch I needed to go and check into my hotel, so after I checked in, dropped off my bags, and rested my feet for a bit, I headed back to Disneyland.
The second half of my day was mostly walking around and taking pictures, and I'm not mad at that. It was just really cool to be at Disneyland, regardless of what I was doing. I did go on Space Mountain, and it was awesome! (I'm also really grateful they make the mouse ears in a way that makes them stay on your head.) The picture that was taken was pretty amazing as well, haha!
I was going to try and watch the parade, BUT right as I saw it coming, I started to have a coughing attack and I knew I couldn't stay and watch. :( I left my spot immediately and found the nearest restroom to compose myself and get everything under control.
I needed to get some water, so I headed to Alien Pizza Planet/Pizza Port for that. (It is currently Pixar Fest.) The pizza honestly smelled AMAZING, but I actually decided to go to Frontierland for dinner. I got a corn dog and fries at the Stage Door Café. After I was done eating, I went over to New Orleans Square. It was so tempting to go on the Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean, but by this time it was starting to get dark and I still needed to walk back to my hotel. It was my original intention to get some Mickey Beignets at the Mint Julep Bar, but it was in my better judgement not to this time around given my circumstances, so I stepped out of the line. :/ Next time I am there, though! <3 On my way out of the park I bought 2 pins. (Penny from 101 Dalmatians and Peter Pan)
It was really sad to leave the park because I had the most amazing day! I was able to meet so many people, and everyone was so helpful and friendly! Disneyland is truly the happiest place on Earth, and I look forward to go again hopefully someday soon! <3
